Dr. Alexis Blanks

Naturopathic Medicine

Dr. Alexis Blanks began her post secondary education at the University of Victoria where she completed her bachelor’s degree in biology and environmental studies. Following this, she earned her ND at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. Dr. Blanks completed her internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic, and at the Sherbourne Health Centre.

Dr. Blanks is certified in acupuncture, and Bowen therapy, and has completed the Clinical Training in Mind Body Medicine offered at Harvard University in Boston. In BC she completed an internship with the Victoria Pain Clinic, a residential treatment centre serving clients who suffer from chronic pain and/or chronic stress.

Dr. Blanks has a special interest in all aspects of women’s health including fertility and pregnancy. She will be returning to practice this February 2011, after having her son in July of 2010 and welcomes the first hand knowledge she has gained in pregnancy, labour and motherhood to enrich her clinical knowledge. By April 2011 Dr. Blanks will be completing extra training to certify her in lactation counseling and is excited to add this to her list of tools to help women and children.

Dr. Blanks believes that her relationship with her patients must be one of partnership. She listens and has a respect for the individual’s goals for their health care. She has a passion for healthy sustainable living, which she is always thrilled to share with others.
